SolarGas Mozambique SU, Lda, trading as SolarGas Energy, is a Mozambican company that has been in operation for over two years. It was established with the aim of developing renewable energy solutions for clean cooking (charcoal and wood-burning stoves, biogas systems with associated cookstoves) and solar systems for lighting and irrigation. The company’s mission is to expand access to clean, affordable and sustainable energy for rural and peri-urban households and small-scale farmers, contributing to the reduction in the use of firewood and charcoal, improved health, energy security and climate change mitigation. In 2025, the company achieved a major milestone with the establishment of a self-funded stove factory, where it focused primarily on market research.
We currently offer BECT-certified improved cookstoves (ICS) and (PUE), as well as pilot-stage CE-certified biodigester kits (HTC) and PUE for commercialisation. The solutions also include user training, installation, technical support and after-sales service. The main target groups are rural and peri-urban households, female heads of households, smallholder farmers, livestock farmers and micro-entrepreneurs who require clean energy solutions with low operating costs in regions such as Maputo.
